All I knew was that I wanted to build a Robot. The idea of being able to build something of that scale, of course excited me. Was I ever too Ambitious? Well, enthusiasm is how I would best describe it.
I was thrilled to have received the Aduino Kit. Opening the box was even a little anticipated. With each individual pieces wrapped up in boxes, I couldn't to help feel that the this was a Starter Kit that could make dreams come true....
The Starter Kit also came with a nice tutorial book. Simplified and elegant graphics to explain the pieces and how to wire up safely made it very easy to approach.
Getting to know the pieces was a huge learning curve. Assembling the pieces that specified in the Tutorial and making it work was very satisfying. With each Tutorial on a very low level, it allowed you to really experiment with different components and even to extend the experiment on a larger scale.
Further ado, with the first trial, we managed to assemble pieces together, creating a switch. Despite the achievement itself, was no doubt, a small effort, nonetheless, it was very satisfying. Like watching something from a Rocky Horror Show, you never knew what the end result was truly going to be. Seeing the light switch come on by the electric current and wires that was carefully placed into the Bread Board.
What I love about the Adunio is that anyone can pick it up and use it straight out of the box. With no special skills or technique required. Although, of a specific younger age should be supervised from an adult. More importantly, parents can also have fun themselves and build large scale projects with their children.
Design and Engineering has never been so fun!
